James S. St. Louis, D.O., MS

Dr. James S. St. Louis is a distinguished minimally invasive laser spine surgeon currently serving as a surgeon at Specialty Medical Center. With extensive expertise in orthopedic surgery and a pioneering role in minimally invasive spinal techniques, he has made significant contributions to the field, helping thousands of patients find relief from chronic back and neck pain through advanced laser spine procedures.

Dr. St. Louis completed his surgical training through the United States Army, where he served as a commissioned officer, and at Kennedy Medical Center in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. His commitment to advancing surgical innovation led him to pursue specialized studies in stem cell therapy at leading hospitals in Ukraine, as well as participation in laser science research in the Czech Republic.

Dr. St. Louis earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, and received his medical degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. His dedication to combining precision technology with patient-centered outcomes led him to found the Laser Spine Institute, a landmark achievement that transformed the standard of care for spinal surgery.

Beyond his surgical practice, Dr. St. Louis has demonstrated a strong commitment to expanding access to orthopedic care. He is the founder of both Alabama Bone & Joint Center and Pensacola Bone & Joint Center, and has served as Medical Director of HealthSouth in Pensacola, Florida.
