What types of procedures do we do?
Michigan Spine Specialists are trained to perform a variety of procedures to help alleviate pain and treat these conditions. Some of the most common procedures that we perform include:
- Spinal fusion:
- Fusing vertebrae together to stabilize the spine and reduce any pain.
- Discectomy:
- Removing a portion of a herniated disc to reduce any pressure on the spinal cord or nerves.
- Laminectomy:
- Removing part of the vertebral bone to relieve any pressure that may be on the spinal cord or nerves.
- Foraminotomy:
- Removing bone or tissue to widen the space around the nerve roots as they exit the spinal cord.
- Artificial disc replacement:
- Replacing a damaged or degenerated disc in the spine using an artificial one.
- Kyphoplasty:
- Injecting a cement-like material into a fractured vertebra to brace it and relieve pain.
